Old Greenville, SC, Army & Navy Store will soon be home to furniture, décor retailer
Downtown Greenville, South Carolina, is getting a new neighbor promising to empower "customers to unleash their inner decorator," according to the store's website. Ballard Designs, a national furniture and home décor store, is set to move into the old Greenville Army & Navy store, at the corner of Main and River streets.

A Greenville native who returned to his hometown to open a high-end restaurant downtown is making his mark on the national scene.
Esquire magazine recently named Scoundrel one of its “Best New Restaurants in America, 2023.”

Anderson-based Maren + Main announces opening date for Greenville location
Anderson-based retail boutique Maren + Main will open its second location Friday, Nov. 17, at 217 N. Main Street in Greenville. The store is hosting a soft opening Thursday, Nov. 16. Maren + Main is a clothing boutique, focusing on upscale, sophisticated styles. The boutique opened its first location in 2021 at 208 N. Main Street in Anderson.

Cateran’s on Wade Hampton reopens with new family ownership
Cateran’s Southern Home Cooking, a familiar name along Greenville’s Wade Hampton Boulevard, reopened on Dec. 7 under new ownership.
Owning a restaurant was a lifelong aspiration for new owner Teresa Cox. The Cox family began talks with the previous owners in late March, finalizing the purchase of the business on Aug. 1.

Vella Salon to open in Village of West Greenville in January
Vella Salon, a multi-service hair salon, will open at 1252 Pendleton Street in the Village of West Greenville in January. Owner Anna Kate Mantooth is a Greenville native with a lifelong dream of owning a business. She looked at dozens of locations before deciding on the space in the village.

Live-fire restaurant and retail market to open in Greenville, South Carolina
A restaurant featuring live-fire cooking will open in the historic Judson Mill District of Greenville. Mill City Pizza features a range of pizzas, paninis, fresh mozzarella made daily, house-made desserts, and a curated selection of beer, wine, and wine-based cocktails.
